Objective: By the end of this 45-minute lesson, the student will be able to recognize and use adjectives to describe nouns, directly addressing the second grade language arts standard 2.L.2b.

Detailed Activities

Adjective Introduction with Picture Book

Sorting Nouns and Adjectives

  1. Show the student index cards with words on them.
  2. Ask the student to sort the cards into two groups: nouns and adjectives.
