Read and Understand Two Texts

Compare and Contrast Using a Venn Diagram

  1. Explain what it means to compare and contrast using simple examples.
  2. Introduce the Venn diagram and how it shows similarities in the overlapping section and differences in the separate circles.
  3. Help your child fill in the Venn diagram with information from both texts.
  4. Discuss the completed diagram to reinforce understanding.
Summarize the Findings

  1. Ask your child to explain in their own words how the two texts are alike and how they are different.
  2. Write a short summary together that includes key similarities and differences.
