These two connected 45-minute Grade 7 writing lessons develop argument writing skills using the supplied worksheet passage. Lesson 1 teaches students to identify and address a counterclaim respectfully. Lesson 2 builds on that work by strengthening a position with relevant evidence and clear reasoning. Students use only the worksheet passage and their own writing materials; no additional reading passage is included in this plan.
