Description
Overview
This two-lesson sequence builds eighth-grade number sense. Lesson 1 develops classification of rational and irrational numbers using definitions, decimal behavior, and number-line reasoning. Lesson 2 applies place value and powers of ten to estimate quantities and write numbers in scientific notation. Both lessons use common household materials and include observable checks for understanding.
