Description
Overview
These two connected 45-minute Grade 8 foundational-reading lessons build decoding skills from word-level meaning analysis to fluent reading of a worksheet-supplied complex text. Lesson 1 teaches students to use meaningful word parts and word histories to interpret academic and domain-specific vocabulary. Lesson 2 applies those strategies while students read the supplied passage accurately, at an appropriate pace, and with phrasing that supports close analysis.
