Overview
This two-lesson sequence uses the informational-text passage supplied on the worksheet. Lesson 1 teaches students to make an analysis claim and support it with accurate textual evidence. Lesson 2 builds on that work by having students analyze the author’s purpose and the text structure used to organize ideas. Both lessons use only the worksheet passage and common classroom or household materials.
