Overview
These two connected 45-minute lessons teach third-grade students to write an opinion paragraph and then strengthen it with reasons and examples. Lesson 1 focuses on stating an opinion and using linking words to connect reasons. Lesson 2 builds on that paragraph by supporting each reason with a specific example from personal experience or from the text supplied on the worksheet.
