Overview
These two connected 45-minute first-grade writing lessons teach children to write a focused story about one small event. Lesson 1 develops a beginning, middle, and end. Lesson 2 revises the story by adding temporal words that clearly show the order of events. Students use teacher-created planning and writing paper; no student reading passage is included or needed.
