Overview
These two connected 45-minute Grade 5 foundational reading lessons build students' ability to use word patterns and morphology to understand content-area vocabulary, then apply accurate decoding and self-correction strategies while tracking fluency growth. Lesson 1 establishes a consistent word-solving routine. Lesson 2 uses the worksheet-supplied passage to practice fluent reading, notice miscues, self-correct, and compare two timed readings.
