Overview
This two-lesson sequence builds foundational reading skills in third grade. Lesson 1 teaches students to identify common syllable types and use spelling generalizations to read longer words. Lesson 2 connects accurate word reading to fluent oral reading through phrasing and repeated reading. Use the worksheet-supplied passage only during Lesson 2; this plan does not reproduce or create a student reading passage.
