Overview

This two-lesson sequence builds third-grade fluency with multiplication and division within 100 and then applies all four operations to word problems. Lesson 1 uses arrays and equal groups to connect concrete models, drawings, equations, and related multiplication and division facts. Lesson 2 uses a consistent read-plan-solve-check routine to select and use addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division in one-step word problems.
